On Shabbos Parshas Achrei-Kedoshim, the Talmidim Hashluchim of Canada gathered in Ottawa, Ontario, for a Shabbos of inspiration and rejuvenation.
The Kinus Talmidim Hashluchim for the student Shluchim of Canada, a first in history, was organized by the bochurim serving as Shluchim of Yeshivas Chabad – Beth Chabad C.S.L. and hosted at the residence of Rabbi Levi and Mrs. Teitelbaum, with Davening held at the Lubavitch Shul – The Jewish Youth Library in Ottawa.
The Kinus was held with the participation of special guest Rabbi Akiva Wagner, Rosh Yeshivah of Yeshivas Lubavitch Toronto, who came especially for the occasion to Farbreng with the Bochurim.
Approximately 20 Shluchim from 4 Yeshivos in Canada, including Yeshivas Chabad Cote S. Luc, Mesivtah Ateres Menachem, Montreal, Yeshivah Or Menachem, Napierville and Yeshivas Lubavitch, Toronto, participated in the inspiring Kinus.
The Bochurim enjoyed fully catered Shabbos meals, catered by L’Orchidée Traiteur Cachère, learned, Davened and Farbrengend all through the Shabbos, in a spirit of “Sheves Achim Gam Yachad.”
The Kinus culminated with a grand Melaveh Malkah farbrengen followed by a group picture and a “Shluchei Adoinenu” dance.
Throughout the Shabbos, the atmosphere at the Kinus was imbued with the notion of the great Zechus and at the same time the Achrayus, the Shluchim have with their Shlichus, and how the Rebbe the Meshaleach gives unbelievable koichois to his Shluchim to succeed, above all measures. The group Farbrenged about this topic and strengthened each other to continue in the best possible way.
The Bochurim all said that the Kinus gave them strength, encouragement and inspiration, for the continuity of their Shlichus, especially as for some of them, it is the last stretch of their Shlichus.
The Kinus was partially sponsored by the Vaad Talmidei Hatmim Ho’oilomi.
A special thank you to all who made this successful Kinus happen: Kehilas Lubavitch of Ottawa, and especially: families Teitelbaum, Hayes, Caytak and Chein, for their hospitality. Rabbi and Mrs. Teitelbaum who helped in organizing the event, Rabbi Akiva Wagner, for traveling to Ottawa especially for this event, Rabbi Tzvi Hirsch Altein from the Vaad Talmidei Hatmim for encouraging and supporting the event, and all the bochurim who made sure this Kinus was as successful as it was.
