We welcome you to a non-conventional Halacha course, launched by TheYeshiva.net., which for the first time synthesizes the intricacies of Jewish law with its spiritual and psychological symbolisms in Chassidus.
World renowned Rabbinic authority, Rabbi Levi Wineberg from Johannesburg, the Rosh Kolel of the Mizrachi Kolel, who serves also the dean of Hamaor, designated to synchronize Halacha and Chassidus, and Beis Mindrash LeHoraah, ordaining many Rabbis, presents here for the first time the practical laws of building (Boneh) on Shabbos, but infusing them with their Chassidic and spiritual interpretation.
“In recent years, the study of Halacha has become somewhat weakened in our circles. Many of our creative young mind prefer the mystical world of Kabbalah and Chassidus, or opt for a life of activism, yet abandon the intricate study of Halacha which they find tedious,” said Rabbi YY Jacobson, dean of TheYeshiva.net.
“But nothing is further than the truth. The intricacies of Halacha contain the full majestic spirit of Yedeishkeit,” he said. “There is no real understanding of Judaism and of Chassidus without a mastery of Halacha. This new series will demonstrate how each law mirrors and reflects some of the richest and exciting ideas in Chassidus,” Rabbi Jacobson said.
“Many of our Halachik figures are not into Chassidus, and conversely, many scholars of Chassidus are unfortunately ignorant in Halacha. This has caused profound damage,” Jacobson believes. “Our inspirational figures are not seen as masters of Halacha. Sadly, a subtle split has developed between the two worlds.” The Rebbe lamented many times that people are not delving into the study of Shulchan Aruch, especially the Alter Rebbe’s Shlchan Aruch. We need to mend this. Rabbi Levi Wineberg, who is a master in both, is the right person to begin the process,” says Rabbi Jacobson.
Hence, a new type of course on Jewish law was launched, right here on COLive and on TheYeshiva.net
Rabbi Levi Wineberg is the author of Lessons in Tanya, and a well-known Halachik scholar and authority. Every Sunday evening he presents a new Halacha class on TheYeshiva.net and on COLlive. In these classes, you will discover practical Halacha, plus get a dosage of spiritual inspiration.
Tonight he explores the prohibition known as Makeh Bapatish—delivering the final hammer blow, which means completing a product on Shabbos. You will discover the practical applications of the prohibition to complete a product, and you will also discover the fascinating parallels to these laws in Chassidus.
It would be VERY helpful if the article would include the ANSWER too. Not everyone can watch the video and a short answer would be VERY helpful – IS ANYONE LISTENING????????
