With the Brunoy Yeshiva currently in the midst of a 10-day summer break, some headed to serve as counselors in various camps.
20 bochurim decided to do something different, and took the initiative to help out the Shluchim in Europe, setting a goal to assist 770 fellow Jews to put on Tefillin.
This goal was inspired for a refuah shleima for Rabbi Yosef Shlomo Ben Risha, a true friend of the Yeshiva, and alum himself, who continually helps out the Yeshiva.
Bochurim traveled to Shluchim in Budapest, Prague, Rhodes, Venice, Rome, Denmark, Spain, Vienna, Valencia and London, and hit the streets offering Jews to put on Tefillin.
They have now reached half way to their goal, donning Tefillin with 385 people, 40 of them being the first time – ‘karkafta dloi maniach Tefillin.’
“Thanks to all the incredible shluchim who took upon to host the bochurim,” organizers said. “Let’s all pray for the speed recovery of Yosef Shlomo Ben Risha.”
