A broken traffic light is causing traffic delays on Kingston Avenue on Wednesday afternoon in Crown Heights, as the neighborhood wraps up Chanukah festivities.
The traffic signal at the corner of Eastern Parkway and Kingston Avenue has malfunctioned and police are diverting all traffic to turn right, not allowing through trafic from that intersection.
There is no information on when the lights will be repaired at this time at this busy intersection between Lubavitch World Headquarters at 770 Eastern Parkway and the Jewish Children’s Museum.
This is the second time this has occurred at this intersection this week, frustrated residents said.
The neighborhood, having just ended Chanukah, is expecting guests again arriving in New York to celebrate the auspicious day of Hei Teves when the Chabad seforim were returned to the Rebbe’s library.

Someone already got hit by a car and someone almost drove into me…
Where is the CHJCC?
85 percent chance they’re either preparing, during or recovering from a lunch or dinner with photographed politician
3rd time in the last two weeks that I can remember.
This is already becoming a normal thing happening at least twice a week with a traffic light stop working for a couple of hours, causing intense traffic, and potential dangerous situations were cars and people can get into a life-threatening situation and it must be avoided and fixed immediately. Thank you.!
There are also numerous City Street Lights (for at night) on the city streets for over 6 months already in CH that are either burned out or that the city removed the street light pole.
NYC311 says that it’s already been reported & there is nothing they can do.
