“A dinner darf men hoben,” (a dinner is needed) was the Rebbe‘s answer to Reb Dovid Deitsch, when asked if it’s so necessary for Educational Institute Oholei Torah in Crown Heights to make a dinner annually.
Since then, Oholei Torah, the flagship school of Chabad-Lubavitch, has had a dinner every year, and with great success. This year’s upcoming event, planned for March 4, 2012 – Adar 10, 5772 will be no exception.
During the gala, the Pinson and Drizin families, together with their friends, will gather to dedicate the Rochel Pinson Bridal Suite, serving as a tribute to Rochel Pinson OBM for the kallahs who wed in the Gutnick Hall.
Dinner honorees include Morah Faige Winner-Hertzel, who will receive the Educator Leadership Award for her dedication and devotion to the Kindergarten Department, and Rabbi Mair and Libby Rotenstreich, longtime friends and supporters who are being awarded the Chessed Award.
Dinner Chairpeople will be property owner Yossi Popack and his wife Batsheva whose commitment to Oholei Torah and its continued growth knows no bounds.
During the event there will be a premiere viewing of a musical video performance by all the divisions of Oholei Torah.
Guests will be entertained by young violinists Mendel Kugel and Avrohom Schneerson, Oholei Torah students, who have prepared a most unique performance.
A memorial tribute will be made during the evening in memory of those connected with Oholei Torah who were tragically taken from us this past year.
As the dinner is just over a week away, the Oholei Torah Development Office is asking those who have not yet made reservations, or placed ads in the Dinner Journal, to please call 718-483-9000 or e-mail dinner@oholeitorah.com to make proper arrangements.
