The Friendship Circle of Crown Heights held a most unique Megilla reading on Purim night.
Building on the success of its monthly Boys Minyan, the staff headed by Yossi Smoller initiated a Purim Party and program for the boys of the Friendship Circle.
Hosted by Mr. and Mrs. Shmuly and Tzirl Goldman, the boys gathered right after Shabbos for Maariv followed by the Megilla.
The highlight of the evening was listening to the FC’s very own Baal Kria – Yaakov Waronker – a member of the Boys Division – who for the past month has dedicated his time to practicing the Megillah.
Having the opportunity to read the Megilla in front a crowd was a treat for Yaakov, but, “Listening to him read, was what makes this job all worth it,” says Rabbi Berel Majesky, Director of the Crown Height Friendship Circle. “We are constantly trying to integrate these boys into the community, and give them the chance to shine, and tonight, Yaakov shone!”
Words can’t express the feeling he felt after completing the task of reading the Megillah, and we all felt that energy and emotion.
On this Purim, please take a moment to ensure all children are given the opportunity to shine in an environment they are most comfortable, support the programs and projects of the Cown Heights Friendship Circle: www.FCBrooklyn.com/DONATE
