The 7th and 8th Grade students who take part in the Chayolei Beis Dovid Program of the Lubavitch Yeshiva in Montreal traveled to New York in honor of Yud Shvat.
The boys were accompanied by Rabbi Menkes, who directs the Chayolei Beis Dovid program.
The trip left from from the front of Yeshiva at about 11PM by charter bus and they had a smooth and quiet trip to the Ohel, where they arrived at about 6AM.
Mikva was followed by a half hour shiur in Chassidus delivered by Rabbi Vaisfiche. The boys then wrote Panim and visited the Ohel. After a quick breakfast of cereal and milk the boys again boarded the bus for the trip to Crown Heights and shacharis in the Rebbe’s room.
After shacharis the boys had some free time to visit family and shop on Kingston Avenue.
Mincha was at 1PM in 770, after which they went via subway to lower Manhattan and boarded the Staten Island Ferry. The return trip, which took about an hour, afforded amazing views of the Manhattan skyline, Statue of Liberty and other landmarks.
Upon arriving back in Manhattan the boys went to tour the site of Ground Zero, where they took in the view of the new Freedom Tower, currently under construction, and said some mishnayos near the pool/waterfall at the footprint of the twin towers.
The group returned to Crown Heights at 5PM whereupon the boys went to Getzel’s Shul and learned the mishnayos of the oisiyos of the Frierdiker Rebbe’s name. Rabbi Vaisfiche then shared some of his memories of Yud Shevat in the “tof shin nuns”.
At 7PM the boys went to Maariv in the Rebbe’s house after which they returned to Getzel’s shul for a delicious dinner of salami sandwiches, followed by a very enjoyable farbrengen with Rabbi Velvel Butman from Chabad of Westchester.
At about 11PM the bus left from Kingston Avenue for a very peaceful return trip to Montreal for a very tired group of chayolim.
Special thanks to Rabbi Menkes and Rabbi Vaisfiche for all their hard work in making this a great event in all ways.
We are looking forward to many more fun and exciting activities imbued with the spirit of yiras shomayim and chassidishkeit, in the coming weeks and months.

GO HABS GO!!!!
Lubavitch Yeshiva in Montreal spent a busy 24 hours in New York, visiting the Ohel, the Rebbe’s room, 770 as well as some NYC landmarks
My first trip to ohelchabad.org in Cambria Heights, NY was when my neighbor took me. He got married and moved away. I was always interested in going to the Ohel on my own so I use http://www.mta.info TripPlanner and take public transportation. The nice man that took us was a NYPD Auxiliary Policeman in Brooklyn. I wish him all the best. After the Ohel we went to 770. I had never been there before either. Another neighbor came along too. He is a lawyer. He got married too. When will I get married?
looks like a really cute trip! looking forward to when my nephews in montreal will be old enough for such trips, and ill get to see pics of them on collive like this 😉
