In honor of rosh chodesh Kislev, the boys of United Lubavitcher Yeshiva at Ocean Parkway in Brooklyn joined together for a special rally.
The boys heard a first hand recount from Rabbi Sholom Baras about how he experienced the special day when the Rebbe returned home from 770.
It was the first time since suffering a major heart attack five weeks earlier, on the eve of Shemini Atzeres in 1977, that the Rebbe left his office in 770 Eastern Parkway and returned to his home on President Street, signaling his recovery.
From that day on, the Rebbe redoubled his efforts on behalf of the Jewish nation and all of humanity, and for the dissemination of Torah and chassidism. From then on, the first of Kislev is celebrated as a day of thanksgiving and rejoicing.
At the rally, the boys recited the 12 pesukim while they enjoyed snacking on refreshing freeze pops. The rally ended with a freilach dance to booming sounds of the Rosh Chodesh Kislev nigun.
