For the past few months, students in Grades 7 and 8 in Oholei Torah have been abuzz with preparations for the “trip of the year,” where the students, Melamdim and hanhola spend quality time in a relaxed atmosphere, yet is imbued with proper behavior and chassishkeit, befitting students of Oholei Torah.
The preparations included coming on time to school, learning well, good behavior and ba’al peh projects. Once a student acquired enough points, he was then invited to join the trip. Those students who worked extra hard, also were given substantial scholarships off the nominal fee.
The trip was to Rocky Horse Ranch resort, where the entire resort was rented exclusively for the 150 Oholei Torah boys, the teachers with their wives and children, 12 staff members, and a trained EMT.
The two action-packed days included horseback riding, skiing, snow tubing, an indoor water park, BBQ, catered meals, 24/7 snack bar and special entertainment, which included a surprise concert from Benny Friedman and Fitche Benshimon.
Of course times for learning, Chitas, Rambam and davening were kept up, and with great chayos!
Many parents and supporters generously contributed to the trip, understanding the importance and impact such projects have on the students.
The program was coordinated by Rabbi Sholom Goldstein, principal, Yossi Bryski of OTEG, Zusha Greisman, and a full team of staff and teachers. Rabbi Hershel Lustig, Dean, joined the trip as well, and gave his full encouragement.

Rabbi Feldman is a phenomenal teacher.A true role model of a real teacher…and it shows!
I WISH THERE WAS SUCH A THING FOR THE KIDS IN LONDON! 🙂
Truly in character, the person behind this all forgot to mention himself. I witnessed him put in hours of work to make sure the bochurim would remember this weekends for years to come. No detail is too small for him.
An experience like this is only possible when its done by Shua Goldstein! Yasher koach!
why doesnt the article mention Shua Goldstein, who was the one that came up with the idea of the project from start to finish, planned and executed last year and this year’s program. Shua – always the humble one 🙂
Room 108
This is unbelievable! Every Yeshivah should do this! Such a great incentive, and teaches the kids that they can have fun and be a chassidish bochur!
The future of CH depends on you keep the great work!!!
