Boston area shluchim, anash, students, bochurim, and friends gathered together in Wellesley, MA on Thursday night, to celebrate 28 Sivan and prepare for Gimmel Tammuz.
In a tent under the Eastern Massachusetts sky, a large crowd participated in the fabrengen with chassidus teacher Rabbi Yossi Paltiel that started at 8:30pm and lasted until almost 3 am.
Using his unique blend of storytelling, history lessons, and chassidic insights, Rabbi Paltiel began the fabrengen by telling the details of the historic arrival of the Rebbe and the Rebbetzin to New York in 1941, as well as the first time the chassidim learned the actual date of the arrival.
After speaking about 28 Sivan, Rabbi Paltiel shifted gears to offering insights on preparing for Gimmul Tammuz and by giving a mini-shiur in VeAtah Tetzave, the last maamar we have from the Rebbe.
The two main themes of the fabrengen were “be happy, but don’t be happy” and the role of Moshe Rabbeinu (and by extension the Lubavitcher Rebbe) in making sure that Yidden are properly influenced by their faith and are properly connected to the Source.
The event was hosted and organized by Rabbi Moshe Bleich, Director of the Wellesley-Weston Chabad with the help of Rabbi Yakov Ciment of the New England Hebrew Academy.
