In today’s technology-filled world it is so important for our kids to take a break from the constant glare of the screens and read books.
But what exactly are they reading? As Chassidim, we want our children reading something more than just a great Kosher read of spy thrillers and suspenseful drama. We want our kids to be reading material that infuses them with Yiras Shamayim and inspires them to be Chassidim.
The Levi Yitzchak Library at 305 Kingston Avenue (between Eastern Parkway and Union st.) is proud to present an opportunity to do just that! This coming Monday, the library is starting a new Book Club going through Sefer Hazichronos for 6-8th grade boys.
A quota of designsted chapters will be assigned for every 2 weeks which the boys will read in their own time, then come together twice monthly to discuss and Farbreng about what they read. The Book Club will be highlighting not only the incredible stories that the Friediker Rebbe shares about the early Nistarim, but also the lessons we can learn from them, integrating and incorporating them into our own lives as well.
Besides for the chapters themselves, there will be some additional suggested reading material relating to ideas mentioned in the chapters of that week’s quota. Meeting will take place twice a month on Mondays at 7-8 PM, lead by master storyteller Moshe Rubin. There will be exciting prizes and raffles for participants.
Sign up and join the club by Whatsapping “join the club” to 718-778-4598.
