In commemoration of the 60th yartzeit of Reb Yisroel Aryeh Leib, the Rebbe’s brother, which took place last shabbos, Yud-Gimmel Iyar, 60 bochurim from Yeshivas Lubavitch Manchester travelled to Liverpool to Farbreng in the city in which Reb Leibel lived.
Neighbors looked out of their windows, and passersby looked on in wonder and surprise as the bochurim danced and took pictures outside the house in which he had lived in. Even the local Police came to see what all the commotion was about.
Although most of the house had been renovated over time, bochurim rang the bell to try to get inside, but no one was home. They questioned some of the neighbors to get some information about the man who lived there, but none of them were around 60 years ago. When asked why they were there, one bochur replied, “To visit the home of our uncle!”
The bochurim sang spirited niggunim while dancing in a circle. As another bochur put it, “there was a warm, chayusdike feeling in the air.” The bochurim then boarded the bus amidst more singing and dancing.
The chayus moved on to the home of Rabbi Avremi Keivman, Shliach to Liverpool, where he farbrenged and inspired the bochurim, in honor of Yud Gimmel Iyar and Pesach Sheini.
Rabbi Shmuley Brown, Shliach to Liverpool Universties, was also in attendance and shared some words with the bochurim.
Rabbi Keivman spoke about the challenges that bochurim face today, namely not being able to see the Rebbe, and shared with the bochurim many insightful stories from when he was a bochur.
The bochurim then had dinner, specially prepared by the Yeshiva chef, Mr. Yaakov Bruk.
The day’s events were coordinated by Bochurim Shlomie Cohen and Mendel Landa, and co-sponsored by South Manchester philanthropist, and major benefactor of the Yeshiva, Mr. Zalman Klyne.

He was murdered by the Nazis, and his day of passing is not known, neither is his grave (he was buried in a mass grave), so it’s not Shayach to commemorate it. Also, the Rebbe spoke about R’ Yisroel Arye Leib, but not about R’ Dov Ber.
Go Avi Eskinazi!!

hey tzemi
apparently youve never been to ‘that part of the country’??
less crime rates than most of england, and anti-semitism (obviously relative to such a small community) is minimal.
check your facts before you mumble some made fiction of what you imagine….
and having visited there numerous times on business, a veru nice place
go dani namdar!!!!!!!!
du är bäasttt!!!!!!!!!!11
The Rebbe also had a younger brother, Dov Ber, HY”D, who was murdered by the Nazis,Y”Sh. A true Kadosh – besides being the Rebbe’s brother, he was murdered because he was a Yid .I don’t see him ever commemorated. Any reason for this?
its not Mr. but Rabbi Yaakov Bruck
Shlomie Cohen u r the man..
england is not random
It is not a police car just the Brown‘s car 😉
I would be downright scared if I lived in that house. The neighbors must have thought that Jews are a real rowdy lot alright. Mind you, the only way a Jew in safe in that part of the country is if he walks the streets in a group of approximately sixty….
No doubt the house was thrilled that all these bochurim came to dance for it
An authentic dugma chaya. A true chasid and shliach. Our bachurim would be better off with more mashpyim like Rabbi K.
Nice to see some chassidishe action in some random places here in England 🙂
