The Bochurim Shluchim of Mesivta Menachem of Buffalo, Chaim Yehoshua Munitz and Boruch Zaetz, began a mivtzah this year focusing on “going to sleep and waking up like a chosid.”
From the start, the bochurim were eager to get involved and participation was excellent. “We were not sure what to expect, but the bochurim took to it right away,” said Munitz.
All of the bochurim who participated were rewarded with a trip to Niagara Falls and a boat ride on the famous Maid of the Mist.
Building on their early success, the Shluchim have now turned their attention to davening. A beautiful colored brochure announcing Mivtza Tefillah was distributed to the students.
The four-part program will focus on a different part of davening each week. In addition to a weekly raffle, each participant will receive the beautiful “Siddur Ha’Meforesh” just for joining the initiative. The Mivtza will culminate in a Mesivta Menachem tradition – a trip to a local rink for a fun game of Ice Hockey.
Rabbi Yosef Munitz, the school’s Rosh Yeshivah, is impressed. “Boruch Hashem, it’s been going very well. The bochurim are very involved and you can clearly see the positive effect it’s having on their davening.”
According to Boruch, there are more exciting mivtzas planned. “Stay tuned,” he said with a smile. “We are just getting started!”
