Upon concluding a most successful year of dedication, love and caring for children with special needs, 40 young men gathered for a barbecue and bonfire, in appreciation for a job well done.
The Friendship Circle of Brooklyn’s Boys Division includes a weekly Chavruseh learning program, a Shabbos Minyan, Farbrengens and outings. All of the Bochurim who volunteer, take out of their 14 hour daily learning schedule, using their dinner time to spend with a young adult or child with special needs.
Yossi Smoller, coordinator of the division, thanked the Bochurim for going way beyond the call of duty, and really making a diffrence to the boys they befriended over the year.
Rabbi Berel Majesky, director of the Friendship Circle of Brooklyn, said: “you have given so much, we have but one more request, please encourage the next generation of Bochurim coming to learn in Crown Heights, to volunteer their time, share with them those priceless moments that you so cherish, empower them to follow in your footsteps.”
Each volunteer was given a gift, a set of customized Friendship Circle cufflinks, as a small token of our great appreciation.
Special thank you to the Eichorn Family for hosting.
