For a number of years now, Bochurim and Yungerleit in Crown Heights join together once a week in the small Shul upstairs in 770 to view a video of the Rebbe’s Farbrengen.
The footage shown at these events often includes never-before seen material, made available especially for the group by the staff at Jem, headed by Rabbi Elkana Shmotkin.
With the onset of the month of Tishrei, when thousands of guests swarm to New York to be in the Rebbe’s presence for the auspicious Yom Tov season, the organizers have multiplied their efforts, arranging a viewing each and every night during the month of Tishrei.
“It is a most timely opportunity for these guests, who have come here with the hope that their visit will assist them in strengthening Hiskashrus to the Rebbe,” one of the organizers said.
“The turnouts we’ve been seeing lately have exceeded all our expectations. One evening we were actually forced to relocate to the Kolel to ensure more spaces!” he said.
The organizers gave special thanks to the staff at Jem for constantly working with him on these projects and enabling their success. “On behalf of the hundreds who have benefited from their tireless efforts, we thank them very much.”
