A Menorah lighting took place in front of the historic Betsy Ross House, a landmark in Philadelphia’s Old City neighborhood in the heart of the Historic District.
The Menorah lighting was hosted by Shluchim Rabbi Zalman and Emuna Wircberg, Directors of Old City Jewish Arts Center in Downtown Philadelphia.
The Betsy Ross House is where seamstress Betsy Ross (1752-1836) lived when she sewed the first American Flag. A popular tourist attraction, the Menorah lighting and event of Jewish pride attracted a large turnout.
