“Every now and than you get introduced to a song that just has ‘it.’ A song that really moves, its lyrics are simple yet poignant, its message universal,” said Benny Friedman of his new single “Mi Shemaamin.”
“These were my feelings when I heard this song for the first time. And as I looked over to the dance floor I realized I was not alone. The guests at this wedding, from all walks of life, were surging with energy as the first few bars of this song began. It was an awesome thing to behold.
“At that moment I decided that I want to record this song and share it with my friends.”
The new single produced by Avi Newmark is perfect for Chanukah parties, to blast from Mitzvah Tanks, and for Chanukah Mivtzoim events.
“So, while my team and I continue assembling our next album for you to enjoy,” says Benny, “here is our rendition of a truly great song, a song which, to me, means Jewish pride, defiance, faith, love of Hashem, love of fellow Jews, and ultimately, fearless joy.”

is my fave! But Benny is right behind! great job benny on ur last cd! Each song was an original!!
Give Credit to Eyal Golan for coming up with such a great song .and give credit to Benny for making it better. his is really getting better and better.
The back cover credits the orginal song to Eyal Golan (check out mostlymusic.com) and Benny writes clearly that this is just a “filler” till his next cd, probably full of original, modern songs, comes out.
Awesome awesome awesome
Half of Avremels big hits in the last 10 years have been covers. It is very very common for artists to create their own versions of selected hit songs. Eyal Golan has been well credited, now give Benny the props he deserves, as this new track sounds AMAZING!!!
Its funny. in one post benny is given musser to be more original like 8th day and not be stuck in 70’s and 80’s, yet in another we are reminded 8th day borrows all of its own influences from singers from the 70’s and 80’s like Moshe Yess and Abie Rotenberg. In fact, like Benny, and Avremel before him, 8th Day also covered an older song, one from late 70’s Begger Woman, Avremel covered Rak Tefilah, and now Benny has covered possibly the hottest song in both Israel and America. (Yishai Lapidot sang it at Ohel, Lipa sang it on… Read more »
GO BENNY WE ALL LOVE U!!!
this song already belongs to another singer………
kinda what 8th day did when they sang the song “old beggar woman” when in reality the song was made 20 years earlier with moshe yess
keep it up
Happy Channuka
We had him for a family simcha and he was really willing to yield for another aspiring singer and give him a “chance” as well.
Like his uncle Avremel has done for him.
R’ Yankel Friedman — what a legacy of talent and mentchlichkeit you left.
it was sooo much fun
you just sit there listening and staring … listened to it over and over, it compels you to stop and listen, he expresses so much emotion with his voice.. he gets better and better, can’t wait for the next CD! this song was a great chanukah present, THANK U

Benny, you need to emulate 8th Day.
We no longer live in the 70’s, 80’s and 90’s.
Please bring out new, original music. You have a great voice, but please make contemporary music.
he states clearly its a cover. its just something extra, no need for the negativity. the song is hot, the sound is hot, the vocals are insane!!!
