Before You Are Bar Mitzvah…

The following is a video that was shown by the recent Bar Mitzvah of Mendel Slavin, in Caracas, Venezuela.

Son to Shluchim Rabbi Yosef and Goldie Slavin, well known for their weekly “JabadTube” – Dvar Torah videos on Youtube, in Spanish, about the Parsha, Yomim Tovim and many jewish topics, including videos specially for women, called JabadTube Mujeres.

With videos about only 4 minutes long, now in its fourth year, JabadTube reaches hundreds of spanish speaking people around the world, bringing them Torah and Yiddishkeit in the comfort of their home. Mendel is also involved in this Shlichus, many times appearing in videos for Yomim Tovim.

For his Bar Mitzvah, the Slavins wanted to use out this concept to teach people, in a way that they will find interesting, about what Bar Mitzvah is and about Tefillin, in Spanish, but with English subtitles.

The video which is also has pictures of the Bar Mitzvah boy, his family, grandparents and great grandparents, teaches some of the important ideas pertaining to Bar Mitzvah, produced as a conversation between a father and son, about to go the Bar Mitzvah, in under 6 minutes.

The event was held at the hall in the jewish Hebraica club, and was a full house event, with over 700 people present, most left that night having learned some things they didn’t know before, and with new inspiration.

May he grow up to be a true Chayal, and continue on his Shlichus.
