A fire broke out Thursday afternoon in the midst of the bustling midday rush at Basil Restaurant in Crown Heights.
The fire started in the wood burning pizza oven, a centerpiece of the popular dairy restaurant on Kingston Avenue in Crown Heights, a bystander told COLlive.
The restaurant was even more busy than usual due to the extra visitors in the neighborhood for the Kinus Hashluchim which began today.
The restaurant was immediately evacuated, noone was injured.
Fire fighters put out the blaze, and the restaurant reopened soon after.
