Bas Mitzvah Party in Johannesburg

This year, the Chabad Of Illovo community in Northern Johannesburg, South Africa, was privileged to have their biggest group of girls enrolled in their Bas Mitzvah Club program. 11 beautiful young ladies studied and blossomed together throughout the year, under the expert care and warm guidance of Mrs. Temmi Hadar.

In celebration of the completion and culmination of the wonderful year, a glamorous ceremony and High Tea were held at Chabad Of Illovo, attended by well over 350 guests.

Mrs. Hadar opened the ceremony, welcoming the crowd, and introducing the guests of honor. The young ladies delivered a group address and D’var Torah, opening the event. Their talk discussed the powerful theme surrounding the Heroines of Jewish History.

Rabbi Michael Katz, Rabbi and Director of Chabad Of Illovo, who addressed the girls, and the large crowd, followed. Mrs. Messody Katz expressed a personal message to the group, and mentioned her sincere thanks on behalf of the whole community, to Mrs. Temmi Hadar for her efforts, dedication and exceptional devotion to nurturing the Bas Mitzvah Girls.

During the ceremony, each girl’s mother paid tribute to their daughters, in a very moving and touching series of warm wishes. The girls each received personalized certificates, a Tehillim embossed with their Jewish names and a cosmetic gift hamper.

Once the ceremony had concluded, the ‘Ladies Only’ celebration began. Energetic dancing, live music, a gourmet meal and a state-of-the art Coffee Bar service added the finishing touches to this upscale, remarkable Simcha.

The event was truly inspiring, genuinely befitting the occasion.
