150 people came out to celebrate Yud Tes Kislev, Rosh Hashanah L’Chassidus at the Chabad Flamingo community in northern Thornhill, Ontario.
To honor Shnas Hakhel the Shluchim arranged a sumptuous Chinese buffet dinner Farbrengen which was held in the beautiful Grand Ballroom at Flamingo.
The lavish event that was open to everybody – free of charge – was anonymously sponsored by a very devoted member of the community who is a true Chossid of the Rebbe, l’ilui Nishmas Chaim Tevya ben Shraga Faivel on occasion of his first Yahrzeit.
The featured guest speaker at this very special event was the acclaimed keynote speaker at the recent Kinus Banquet, Rabbi Shlomie Chein, Director of Chabad at the University of California, Santa Cruz.
The Farbrengen theme was entitled: The Gift of Chassidus: You, the World and Torah in HD. Rabbi Chein captivated the large and eclectic audience as he shared found insight into the transformative approach of Toras HaChassidus in appreciating the eternal relevance and wisdom of Torah, and unleashing the divine potential we each posses.
Although many in the crowd were still in early stages of their Yiddishkeit development, the Shliach’s powerful presentation, extraordinary eloquence and poignant messages moved and inspired them.
After several hours, the formal part of the program concluded and Rabbi Chein stayed on to Farbreng with members of the community and the Talmidim of Mesivta Ohr Temimim Lubavitch Toronto, which is currently being housed at the state of the art Chabad Center.
