Hadassah Lieberman, wife of United States Senator Joseph Lieberman (I-CT), will be the guest speaker at the gala banquet of the International Kinus Hashluchos, COLlive.com has learned.
The February 3-8 2010 Kinus is the annual convention of Chabad-Lubavitch women emissaries running Chabad Houses, educational institutions and social causes.
Lieberman will be speaking at the New York Hilton hotel about meeting the Rebbe in person and developing a connection with Chabad spanning several decades.
Born in the refugee camp of Prague, Hadassah Freilich is the daughter of Holocaust survivors who moved to the U.S. in 1949.
Mrs. Lieberman said her parents instilled in her the importance of a sense of gratitude and purpose in life.
The Lieberman couple regularly participate in Chabad events and interact with many Shluchim throughout the world, helping pursue the noble goals of shlichus.
Mrs. Lieberman is active in improving educational standards, creating awareness in women’s health issues, and assisting various Jewish and other nonprofit organizations.
“We are honored to have her address us at the Gala Banquet,” the coordinating Vaad Hakinus committee wrote in an email.
