Over 800 men and women from all over the UK attended the Inspire Yud Tes Kislev celebration last Thursday night in London.
The event at the Prince and Princess Hall in Edmonton attracted a wide range of people with Shluchim inviting their communities to participate.
The evening started with Tehillim for the Refua Sheleima of the Head Shliach Rabbi Nachman Sudak. The Tehillim was recited by Rabbi Mechi Ganz who a few weeks ago has moved with his wife to open Chabad of Finchley, a new Chabad House in North West London.
This was followed by a book launch by Rabbi Mendel Kalmenson of his new book “Seeds of Wisdom.” Rabbi Kalmenson shared three stories from his new book and hundreds of copies were sold and autographed on the night.
Chazzan Eli Sufrin sang Pada Vesholom and the whole crowd danced as on Simchas Torah.
After the main course there was a video memorial tribute to Rabbi Dr. Immanuel Schochet OBM whose son Rabbi Yitzchok Schochet partly sponsored the event. In the tribute it was noted that Rabbi Immanuel Schochet had the merit of translating part of Tanya and elucidating its principles together with many other Chassidic works of note.
The Guest Speaker was Rabbi Dov Greenberg, Director of the Rohr Chabad Student Centre at Stanford University Palo Alto CA, who spoke beautifully and eloquently about positive thinking basing his talk on a Maamar of the Alter Rebbe.
Rabbi Greenberg went on to speak at a Shabbaton in a Golf Club in South London and also addressed on Motzei Shabbos a large group of post seminary girls at Hendon Chabad House. He truly managed to communicate with all he addressed a real contemporary, upbeat message.
Rabbi Nissan Dovid Dubov, Director of Chabad Wimbledon, who organized the events noted how Inspire is a true event of Achdus, bringing together all strands of the community and how it brings pride to the young of Chabad.
