Bais Schneur Zal, located in Luzerne County, PA, was founded with a simple purpose in mind: to give Yeshiva students ages 16-19 a successful and fulfilling Yeshiva experience. While this may sound straightforward, the reality is that too many talented individuals have struggled to feel accomplished and successful in their years in Zal.
To succeed in a Yeshiva Gedolah requires a strong sense of inner motivation, fundamental learning skills, and a passion for Yiddishkeit and Limud Torah. For a Bochurwho doesn’t (yet) check all those boxes, his Zal experience can feel empty and unfulfilling.
For the longest time, people have been talking about the need for a Yeshiva that caters directly to this sizeable group of Bochurim.
The need for a new Yeshiva that is deeply rooted in the values and structure of Tomchei Temimim, yet engages with each Bochur to create a personalized learning schedule that he feels motivated and excited to wake up to.
The need for a Yeshiva that gives each student the time, support, and resources to tend to his mind, body, and soul, enabling him to serve Hashem from a healthy and joyful place and cultivate his unique skillset and talents.
A Yeshiva that acts as a stepping stone for Bochurim to progress to a classic Tomchei Temimim setting and actively helps them make the transition.
The Bais Schneur Hanhala are renowned for going ALL IN for each individual, cutting no corners and sparing no funds to ensure that every Bochur is given ALL that he needs to succeed and activate his inner talents.
Bais Schneur invests tremendous amounts of money into an incredible array of extracurricular activities for the Bochurim to enjoy outside of Seder. These include gym sessions with a professional trainer; music and art lessons; carpentry workshops; mixed martial arts; computer programming; a certified life coach; inspirational guest speakers; exciting outings, reward trips, and Shabbatons.
The Yeshiva culture, set by the Hanhala, is one of honesty, trust, connection and comradery, empowering each individual to foster meaningful relationships with their teachers and their peers.
As a principal, Bais Schneur does not let tuition, or in fact, any financial consideration, get in the way of the physical and spiritual well-being of students in our Yeshiva. Every year, we open our doors to boys from diverse financial backgrounds, providing not only tuition cuts but also going all-in for each Bochur irrespective of the financial sacrifices involved.
