Did you notice lots of green skirts flooding Kingston Avenue on Thursday? It was not an illusion. It was the culmination of a Program – ‘Nosim L’Rebbe’ of Bais Rivka High School of Crown Heights.
“Nosim L’Rebbe” is a part of “Achos Hatmimim,” a successful program that has enabled personal growth in Chassidishkeit for thousands of girls throughout its years.
Nosim L’Rebbe was created to help girls who live in Crown Heights all year round appreciate the zchus they have to live right near 770, in the Rebbe’s Shchuna. This zchus is specifically significant during Tishrei, when thousands of Chassidim for generations would come to be with the Rebbe.
Accordingly, this year the program was themed “Community Links to the Rebbe,” with the girls using stores and aspects of Crown Heights to learn lessons from. For example, the Learning Booklets included : “Sweet Expressions- a daily chassidishe Pisgam” and “See View”- the Rebbe’s perspective on a specific topic.
Each girl who joined spent the month utilizing the opportunities each Yom Tov has. It meant she filled her day with davening, participated in shiurim in 770, learning, going on Mivtzoim, helping at home and assisting Shluchim.
One hundred and fifty girls completed the term, and each girl was included in a raffle, the prize being a trip to Eretz Yisroel with Achos Hatmimim. (Congratulations to Sara Wilhelm of the 9th grade on winning!) They also heard about the importance and beauty in having the Rebbe’s guests during Tishrai from an amazing woman who really exemplifies Hachnasas Orchim, Mrs. Tzippy Dalfin.
In addition, every girl who joined was rewarded by joining an incredible scavenger hunt through the Rebbe’s Shchuna- down Kingston Ave! Clues based on Chassidishe Pisgamim and Mamarei Chazal were discovered in the different stores, along with Sushi, Danishes, Coffee, Yogurt, Candy and more!
Nosim L’Rebbe of Bais Rivka would like to thank the participating stores and sponsors for their generosity: Kingston Bake Shop, Sweet Expressions, Sell-a-bration, Jian, Gombos, Natural Flavors and Post Mark-it.
