A lively 60th birthday Farbrengen for Rabbi Noteh Shemtov, Mashpia at Aliya, was celebrated at the Aliya Institute on Monday night.
Marking the fourteenth year since Rabbi Moshe Feiglin, the innovative and devoted director of the Aliya Institute, catapulted Rabbi Shemtov’s extremely successful involvement with Aliya, helping countless youths to get their lives going in the right direction.
The inspirational farbrengen extended into the night, with singing, stories and ahavas yisroel sentiment felt by all. The bouchrim and Rev Noteh benched each other that this should continue in good health for the next sixty years.
Reb Noteh spends endless nights in one-on-one evenings, guiding our dear bochurim to work through the innumerable pathway choices available in their young impressionable lives. Reb Noteh does this with real chasidishe love, concern and devotion, and the results can be seen, with countless young men continuing into successful careers, marriages and families.
Reb Noteh’s phone does not go into silent mode throughout the night. For not just once did a phone call from a bochur in crisis come through at three or four in the morning.
The ahavas yisroel the bochurim display for each other is unconditional, as expressed at a recent farbrengen, when a newer participant mentioned his flight early the next morning, and was instantly told that his ride would be ready by one of the other bochurim, who hardly knew him before that night.
Rabbi Moshe Feiglin established the Aliya Institute twenty years ago for youth at the crossroads. His selfless mesrias nefesh for our boys, combined with programming, farbrengens and premium social interactions, has reaped incredible rewards for our youth, their families and our community’s future.
