R’ Aharon Gitchel, a devoted chassid, longtime Crown Heights handyman and tree arborist, passed away after a brief illness Wednesday night, 8 Nissan 5783.
He passed away 4 days before his 80th birthday.
Aharon was dedicated to the Rebbe, to chassidus and lived with Moshiach.
Aharon was a leader of Shmira. He was known for his gentle and humble spirit, and his willingness to help anyone.
He is survived by his wife Zahava Harary, his son Yehoshua and daughter Shulamit, his sister Carol Gitchel and his brother William Gitchel and family.
The levaya will pass by 770 at 9:45 am on Friday and will continue at 12 noon at Schwartz Brothers Memorial Chapels 114-03 Queens Blvd, Forest Hills, NY 11375.
The kevurah will be in Queens.

I remember him from Pittsburgh, where he used to help out in the yeshiva schools.

He was a good friend to my father z”l here in Pittsburgh. My father praised him highly as a true and sincere Chossid, who knew and did what is right. Our family remembers him well.
