Smiles Lerner Gamss, a dental practice in the heart of the Crown Heights neighborhood that has been serving the Greater Brooklyn Community since 1983, is closing its doors.
Dr. Batya Lerner and Dr. Aron Gamss met at NYU College of Dentistry and have been close colleagues and friends ever since.
Using state-oftheart but conservative procedures, the practice was devoted to restoring and enhancing the health and natural beauty of the patient’s smile.
Over the years, they treated adults, young adults, teens, children and patients with special needs. they emphasized the prevention of dental disease through evidence based dentistry by promoting regular dental cleaning, fluoride treatment, sealants etc.
They notified COLlive.com that they would be closing the practice at 777 Montgomery Street effective Friday, February 23, 2024. They said the doctors are retiring.
In a statement, they wrote:
It is with mixed emotions that we are informing our community that after more than 40 years of practicing dentistry in the neighborhood, we have decided to close our office.
Our last day will be February 23, 2024.
This decision was not made lightly!
We would like to thank you for your loyalty and support !
It has been a privilege and a pleasure to serve you , your families and friends for so many years, some of you for 3 generations!
We would also like to thank our devoted and wonderful staff, in particular Kaila Schaffran who is beloved by all!
She was responsible for making our office what it was and we owe her a tremendous debt of gratitude!
May Hashem grant her health, happiness and much nachas from her wonderful family!
We would like to stress the importance of continued dental care and maintaining oral health.
Please be assured that many of the local dentists and health care centers accept your insurance and you may continue to receive your dental care there.
