Twelve runners took part in The Color Run last Sunday to raise money for Chabad of North East London and Essex in England.
The Color Run, also known as the Happiest 5k on the Planet, is a unique paint race that celebrates healthiness, happiness, individuality, and giving back to the community.
Runners are required to begin with wear white at the starting line and finish the run plastered in color – participants are doused from head to toe in different colors at each kilometer.
But if you are running to support Chabad there is another rule.
Rabbi Aryeh Sufrin MBE, spotted an opportunity when he noticed among the runners a young man who had his Bar Mitzvah at Chabad some years ago.
The rabbi offered him Tefillin and the man gladly agreed. The boost of the Mitzvah at the start of the run definitely helped the success, Sufrin noted.
The team raised £3,000 ($4,600) towards the running of the broad range of activities the Chabad center offers.
Well done guys top effort!
