The most famous object of the Russian city of Ramenskoye is its Airport Ramenskoye, which serves the Gromov Flight Research Institute.
Located 46 km south-east of Moscow, the airport is a major aircraft testing facility since the Cold War years with the majority of the major Russian OKBs having facilities on the airfield.
But that might change very soon.
A group of Lubavitchers were in the city this week to celebrate the final stages of construction to the exterior of a Jewish community center, a replica of Lubavitch World Headquarters in Brooklyn, NY – otherwise known as 770 Eastern Parkway.
The building will include a duplicate of the “Rebbe’s chambers” in Brooklyn, a synagogue and a library. A swimming pool and gymnasium will be located in the basement. Other rooms will serve as classrooms and event hall.
Rabbi Yitzchak Kogan, spiritual leader of the Bolshaya Bronnaya Street synagogue in central Moscow, is spearheading the effort.

Reb Yitzchak Kogan and Aguch Moscow are separate from Lazar and FJC/Or Avner. This is strictly Reb Yitzchak’s project and in no way is Lazar providing any meaningful assistance.
