R’ Binyamin Kahan, a resident of Kfar Chabad, Israel who was responsible for the upkeep and logistics of the Kfar Chabad village for many decades, passed away on Wednesday, 28 Iyar, 5784.
He was 88.
As part of his duties, he was responsible for the roads, gardens, cleaning and more, which he did with great devotion. He invested his strength and heart in everything related to the upkeep in the Chabad village and was involved in every event, meeting, preparation for large-scale events, and more, often beyond the official working hours.
He was a Yirai Shamayim and was known for his dedication to learning Torah and was a regular attendee at Torah Shiurim at Nachum Yitzchok Shul.
His wife Chana passed away 15 years ago.
He was the son of the known Chosid R’ Michoel Yehuda Arye Leib haKohen Kahan (who was the brother of the Chosid R’ Fuleh Kahan).
He is survived by his children, Mrs. Rochel Feigin – Emanuel, Menachem Kahan – Kfar Chabad, Aryeh Kahan – Kfar Chabad, Tzvika Kahan – Kfar Chabad, Chaya Sabbag – Kfar Chabad, and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
He was predeceased by his daughter Ita Yehudis Broner obm.
He is also survived by his siblings, R’ Boruch Sholom Kahan – New Haven, Connecticut, R’ Berel Kahan – Crown Heights, Rivka Tenenbaum – Kfar Chabad, Slava Chitrik – Miami, and R’ Aharon Kahan – Kfar Chabad.
The Levaya took place today in Kfar Chabad with burial on Har Hazeisim.
