The main shul of 770 Eastern Parkway in Crown Heights, which has been the target of vandalism by a rough group of bochurim, has undergone repair and inspection and is projected to reopen for Shabos, COLlive.com was told.
A construction crew has been working throughout Wednesday to seal off the breach in the wall and tunnel that was dug by the bochurim in a unilateral effort to expand the Rebbe’s Shul.
Officers of the New York Police Department were stationed around the complex of Lubavitch World Headquarters on Eastern Parkway, Kingston Avenue, and Union Street to ensure the workers and inspectors wouldn’t be harmed.
While some of the original group of bochurim, identified by their Yechi yarmulkas and yellow Moshiach pins, were released, footage taken on Wednesday night showed NYPD officers arresting another bochur for his involvement. They released him soon after because he was a minor.
The entire building at 788 Eastern Parkway has been closed since, including the main shul where damage was done but also the many offices that operate out of Lubavitch Headquarters.
The New York City Department of Buildings dispatched an emergency response team to inspect the building. Following the construction work, they concluded that “no stability issues or work ongoing at the time of inspection.” They stated that the issue has been “resolved.”
A source told COLlive: “They finished repairing the broken wall tonight. They’re gonna wait now until Friday for the cement to dry up. IY”H, the shul will be open for Shabbos.”
According to Kabbalah this opening cannot be closed entirely, has this been taken into consideration?

Maybe I’m missing some info, but I still don’t understand why this was not treated as an internal disciplinary matter just like any other institution of learning would do in the case of damage and wildness- rather than a law enforcement event with pictures and publicity to secular news sites. Who did that help? Not 770 and not Chabad and definitely not Israel.

The Rebbe is the one who defines what’s considered a terrorist in Lubavitch.
When the Rebbe said there are no terror brigades in lubavitch it was referring to a case where people had stuffed a lock!
The Rebbe was just quoting, and ATTACKING an article by an anti-Lubavitcher who called Lubavitch a “טעראר בריגאדע” (for much more than stuffing a lock…).

This report from the NYC is about Lot 31, which is the original 770 building. There was never anything wrong with that building. 778 is Lot 38. Something doesn’t make sense here.

The Rebbe writes that all chassidus should only be published by Kehos, it’s crazy and upsetting that in the Rebbe’s own shul there are only stolen counterfeit seforim and the official ones get ripped up
I don’t go to 770 anymore with my children. Unfortunately, there are bad influences there, which I don’t want my children to see their behavior.
Many a time, krias hatorah and davening has been interrupted by a verbal and physical fight which broke out, there are people there which have zero good middos.
I haven’t stepped foot in 770 for 25 years.
When visiting, I pass by and explain to my children what 770 USED to be.
