A group of bochurim from Yeshivas Bais Schneur in Luzerne County, Pennsylvania, participated in a special road trip throughout the State of Maine after completing two months of intensive Gemaro learning as part of the Yeshiva’s Mivtzah Torah.
The bochurim spent their afternoons every day for 8 weeks working hard on learning Gemoro Sotah. They were tested weekly and participated in a weekly game show. Weekly events were held throughout the duration of the Mivtzah for all those participating including hikes, picnics, Kumzitzin, etc.
Eleven Bochurim completed all of the necessary tests and were eligible to participate in a Grand road Trip throughout Maine. The following Bochurim completed the Mivtzah Torah: Binyomin Kotler, Daniel Holtzman, Chaim Tzvi Deitsch, Yisroel Rutman, Yossi Greenberg, Yossi Blokh, Zalman Turen, Ahron Gryka, Menachem Turjman, Yosef Hadar and Mendel Druin.
The 5 day trip was action-packed, visiting New Haven, Newport, Boston, Kennebunkport, Baxter State Park, and Acadia National Park. They went hiking, sightseeing, camping, niking and Level 5 White water rafting.
The trip was filled with Kumzitzes, Farbrengens and Mivtzoim, as well as several Bar Mitzvahs, including a very special one on a summit in Acadia National Park.
The bochurim had an incredible experience and felt that their hard work was appreciated.
“It feels really good to have accomplished so much learning, and for the Yeshiva to show appreciation with taking us on this incredible trip,” says Hatommim Yossi Blokh, “programs like this give me extra motivation to my learning, and give me opportunity to bring my Yeshiva experience outside the walls of Yeshiva.”
A special thank you to Rabbi Yisroel Eichenblatt, Hatommim Hashliach Yissachar Tzvi Wilansky, Shmuel Avraham, and Levi Laufer for leading the trip, and R Tarlow and R’ Mendy Hershkop for running the learning part of the Mivtzah.

BH It looks like an amazing trip !! But there is NO reason for those precious buchorim to be standing so close to the edge of what looks like a really high cliff in the 5th picture from the end. Also, any time our kids go boating or canoeing they must be supplied with life jackets. We trust in Hashem, but these are basic safety measures ,,,
