A perpetrator was arrested last Monday afternoon after he assaulted a young Jewish boy in the Crown Heights neighborhood in Brooklyn, NY.
The incident occurred near Lefferts Ave and Troy Ave at approximately 6:30 PM when the perpetrator randomly approached the boy and assaulted him on the head.
Shmira patrol volunteers were successful in locating the attacker and he was placed under arrest by the NYPD.
This attack is one more in a series of intentional assaults against local Jewish people, with no other criminal intent, such as theft.
Please be aware of your surroundings. In case of an emergency, call 911 and Shmira 24/7 at 718-221-0303.

Why do we have to live like this , if they wanted to put a stop to this they could, we don’t have to live in fear
Why did you hold him for?? He is probably back in the street. I would have hit him in the head 100 times harder to teach him a lesson. Not that criminals like him ever learn a lesson.
and you probably would have ended up in jail for longer than this guy
Let me get your post straight: a young boy is supposed to be capable of what you said: “hit him in the head 100 times harder”?
The perp clearly weighs about 300 pounds!
What La-La Land do YOU live in, Mr. “Why???”
Shmira is the best!!
Really scary!
I think the time has come to sue the Mayor, the police dept for not protecting their citizens!
Taxes are paid for a reason! If the gov can’t or won’t protect their citizens, hire your own professional thugs to beat the he– out of these thugs!
They’ll pass the message to their friends that it’s not a good idea to terrorize and rob
Yes, it’s time for CH attorneys to get together and file multiple lawsuits against New York City on behalf of many crime victims who were attacked by local homeless shelter “residents”
I am in. There should be attorneys who use Fair Housing laws to stop the oversaturation of homeless on Clarkson Ave which is a segregation issue. Affirmatively Furthering Fair Housing – NFHA (nationalfairhousing.org)
Breaking Ground has no curfew for its homeless residents. Post your email address for the attorneys to contact you
Harvey Dent, Esq.
I believe he is always at the Maple street Public library.
He is prob there daily. I’ve seen him so many times!
Judge should slam him in jail. For long long time and show business.
Constitution or not, he was caught red-handed.
Unfortunately knowing NYC he’ll be let out WITH OUT BAIL.
And back on the Street’s.
And then what?
Crazy.
I see him all the time, He’s one of many unstable ppl put up at the shelter on Albany and winthrop. With the new development coming there will be hundreds more like him.
The victims family should sue NYC (department of homeless, and a few other NYC agencies to sue) for putting this guy here.
Seen him near Albany Winthrop/Clarkson area a few times. Not sure which shelter he lives in because there are many shelters, but the police 71 pct probably know which shelter.
Victim should sue for intentionally putting this unhinged, unstable violent perpetrator in a community of families and children.
I see this guy lumbering up the block every day. Slow blocks the sidewalk sometimes mumbling drunkenly seemingly constantly irritated. I usually direct my children away from him and others whilst watching them for danger.
the perp seems unhealthy, so neither the street nor the police system will help him or us.
They voted for this.
Move the shelter to another neighborhood, let them deal with this.
They will be more than happy.
Close the shelters in south CH.
Shomrim has had him arrested before, but the city let him out. for the most part he minds his own business and every once in a while he just whacks someone… just stay away from him.
It’s shmira that had him arrested before… In general, for the most part when shmira does something like catch people, help people, have people arrested, shomrim comes to take pictures and take credit… We know this has to stop at some point, and Crown heights has figured out that this is going on. Shomrim, just stop. We all know shmira is the real deal.
How bout – Shmira and Shomrim are both brave warriors who protect CH. Comment Moderators, please do a better job.

My daughter was assaulted by this man Raymond l, a year and a half ago
We need to get him off the streets
Yes, of course we should avoid getting anywhere near such individuals.
And we can “watch our backs” by turning around often. But we don’t have eyes in the back of our heads. Mentally ill/altered-state people are in the community, and it is impossible to 100% always see them in our vicinity.
WHERE ARE OUR “LEADERS”?
My ten year old was so happy and independent this year walking one block over to Lefferts park and after some kids just called out to him with curse words he is now scared to go!!!!
He sits at home on gorgeous days instead of playing baseball with his friends ;(
And now this!!!
They get nervous about the local mentally ill population and used to go play by themselves….
Sue is the answer. This was done after crown heights pogrom. Sue for millions. If it cost the city money maybe they will wake up. You need a good jury that will be on your side. So you need more frum yidden to go on jury duty.
Get a friend or two and come to the Housing Committee at CB 9 and CB 17. Calendar – Brooklyn Community Board 9 (nyc.gov) – BK CB 9 Housing Meeting 06/14/23 Organize a block association, Form a group. Take action. Do something and let Hashem sort out the rest
