Run4Yitzi is happening again this year, B”H. They are joining the Miami 305 Marathon in Florida on March 5, 2023.
Last year Run4Yitzi had more than 100 runners and raised over $260,000! This money goes directly to the Hurwitz Family Fund to help with medical and living expenses for Rabbit Yitzi and Dina and their family.
Run4Yitzi was conceptualized in 2015 by Brocha Lipkind, a childhood friend of Dina’s. “I wanted to help, to do something tangible for my friend,” Brocha told us. That first year she raised $10,000 and had four runners. “In my wildest dreams I didn’t think we could be where we are today. The Run4Yitzi runners are truly a family.”
Rabbi Mushi Fogelman one of the five Rabbis committed to taking care of the Hurwitz family has said, “Run4Yitzi literally keeps Yitzi alive, with G-d’s help! Every dollar raised keeps Yitzi and his family going for another day.”
“I’ve been intimately involved with Run4Yitzi the past few years,” says Rivka Teich, another childhood friend of Dina’s, “And the sincerity and devotion of our runners is something special. We are all here for a common cause, to help a fellow yid. And when that’s your goal, only good can happen.”
