On the Yahrzeit of Rabbi Lipa Dubrawsky, the legendary and beloved shliach in Vancouver, who dedicated his life to the teaching and spreading of Torah and Chassidus, JLI announced a new educational program in his memory.
Coordinated by Rabbi Berri Spitezki, son-in-law of Rabbi Dubrawsky, of blessed memory, on his yahrtzeit (27 Nissan), the new program, titled: Cultivating Kindness, is being developed and piloted in Canada in partnership with the MADA organization in Montreal, as led by Rabbi Chaim Shlomo Cohen.
JLI will be unveiling the program across other countries by local shluchim in tribute to Rabbi Dubrawsky’s legacy of scholarship and the sharing of Jewish wisdom and Chasidus with the world.
The new initiative will impart the central ideas and values at the core of kindness, imbuing students with the invaluable appreciation of giving. This topic was chosen because Rabbi Dubrawsky exemplified the epitome of giving and spreading kindness, the organizers said.
A comprehensive, three-part seminar designed to educate participants on kindness, the program will raise awareness around poverty and instill a sense of responsibility for the less fortunate. Led by trained instructors, the sessions will invite participants to partake in volunteering activities, reflect on their experiences and become more accustomed to introducing acts of kindness into their environments.
Cultivating Kindness is being developed to be launched worldwide, giving the opportunity to thousands of Jews to appreciate their role in the service of others. It brings a newfound understanding of the meaning behind kindness and giving, as well as unique opportunities to volunteer at local charitable organizations.
