An international dynamic virtual conference will take place live on Motzei Shabbos, open for all members of the community. This is an important initiative of the Australian Jewish community, led by Rabbi Chaim Levy of Sydney’s Shul. The program will include discussion around treatment and prevention of mental illness in the community, through the lense of Judaism and Chasidic. With the Rebbe’s unique view on mental health. As well coping mechanisms, relevant treatments, and practical tools to improve your own mental health.
Senior mental health specialists, clinical psychologists, public figures and Jewish leaders from around the world will be sharing their wisdom and expertise. In addition former Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu will participate to share a special message, as well as a representative of the Australian Prime Minister Scott Morrison.
The need and demand for this is growing day by day, as we witness a rise in depression, anxiety and mental health issues starting from a young age. Covid and the prolonged lockdowns have also done their damage, escalating existing conditions and creating new mental health challenges for all ages.
“We cannot ignore the plight of our young people, and the difficulties families experience due to mental health issues. Especially now post covid, it’s time to bring back the sense of community and belonging that we all have been missing for so long,” says event organizer Rabbi Chaim Levy.
