Menachem Education Foundation (MEF) has announced a brand new program to positively impact our bochurim and teens, through training their Mechanchim, Menahalim, Mashpiim and Mashgichim to truly reach every Talmid.
While many associate MEF with academics, on the women’s side, MEF has already been providing such training for several years, with Mrs. Dena Gorkin and other presenters providing the “Teach and Reach” program to 60 Mechanchos of teenage girls, and counting. After the success of this program, the time was right to bring this model to our Yeshivos catering to bochurim Bar Mitzva age and up, and “L’hagia L’hashpia” was born.
The program is being run by Rabbi Shalom Ber Halberstam, Menahel of Mesivta Lubavitch, Chicago, with presenters Rabbi Sholom Scharf, Mashpia in Chicago as well, and Rabbi Osher Farkash, Mashpia at Chabad Yeshiva of Buenos Aires, Argentina. These noted educators will discuss topics such as building relationships with our Talmidim, understanding their current challenges, and encouraging growth in their Yiddishkeit and Chassidishkeit.
Rabbi (Dr.) Yosef Shagalow will also give a guest presentation on students’ mental health needs, and Rabbi Shais Taub and YY Jacobson will be jointly lead a farbrengen for the final session.
The five week program takes place fully online, on Wednesday evenings beginning Shushan Purim Katan. Participants can sign up at www.mymef.org/lehashpia. Within one week of program launch 25 Mechanchim from around the U.S. and Canada have already signed up, reflecting the importante niche this program fills.
“The Chinuch of our youth is our community’s main priority,” says Rabbi Zalman Shneur, MEF Founder and Executive Director. “Those who take on this important Shlichus are truly our heroes, and empowering them to connect with and nurture our bachurim is our greatest honor and zechus.“
