What are 5 Chabad singers doing sitting together in the Nachum Yitzchok shul in Kfar Chabad?
Learning a little known Chabad melody.
Called Niggun Kremenchuk after the Ukrainian industrial city it originated from, the song has not been sung for many years in Chabad for unclear reasons.
One person who kept it alive was the late chossid R’ Avrohom Lison OBM, a resident of Kfar Chabad and son in law of the venerable Mashpia R’ Shlomo Chaim Kesselman OBM. He was known for his lengthy and heartfelt davening.
He added verses from Tehillim Kapital 30 “Ki Rega B’Apo” to the melody and would sing it during his davening, allowing others to learn and remember it as well.
In a musical production dedicated to his memory, 5 Chabad singers, Mendy Jerufi, Simche Friedman, Nemuel Harush, Yoni Shlomo and Yisroel Jerufi, are bringing it to the wider public.
Produced by Yosef Greenwald and arranged by Moshe Laufer, the music clip concluded with the sound of R’ Avrohom Lison’s voice singing the niggun.
Joining the singers for the music clip was R’ Yaakov Lerner, known as the dancing chossid for his joyous moves at weddings and simchas.

LYRICS:
Not sure this is an unknown niggun. Its sung often by farbrengens. Not with these words though
Well known niggun as far as I am concerned. I remember it being taught to us in mesivta
I love it!
Reb Avrohom Lisons Davening was legendary…. b’arichus, with intense kavana and Simcha… Everyone talks about it..
His Kabalas Shabbos would last for 5, 6 hours. People came from all over Israel (including parents with children after their Friday night meal) to observe him daven and sing sweet Niggunim alone at the back right of the shul… He was a wonderful Baal Menagen and composed many different parts of Davening, sometimes singing a full Niggun for just one word of the davening.
I hope Moshe Laufer sees this: I wait all year long for a new Moshe Laufer Chabad nigun production. Nothing else comes close. This year, Chabad 4 came out and I was so excited. But it wasn’t Chabad…. it was Chasseedish. I say this with full honor and respect to Chagas chassidim, they have so much production of their music. Chabad is sorely missing genuine Chabad music and only a Lubavitcher can sing it. Listening to the different accent and not a Chabad chossid sing in chabad 4 was beautiful but not what i gad waited for so long. If… Read more »
Sung regularly in yeshivos
The title is misleading and should be updated…. It’s not unknown
This powerful hartzike Niggun is known as R Avrohom Lison’s Niggun and often sung.. Also by Simchas bais hashoeva
Is there a way we can get an audio if R Avrohom singing it, original?
