Over 100 Jewish professionals, who are visited on a weekly basis by the bochrim of Yeshivas Lubavitch Detroit, took an extended lunch break to join together for a brunch celebrating a year of Mivtzoim and incredible growth.
The theme of the event was empowering every individual to spread the warmth and joy of yiddishkeit notwithstanding one’s own level of Torah knowledge.
Meir Greenberg showcased what all the guest look forward to every week: a thought on the weekly Torah portion.
Berel Danow spoke warm words of the meaning and importance of a Rebbe. Encouraging everyone to write their Hebrew names and take on a mitzvah to be brought into the Rebbe for Gimmel Tammuz.
He then introduced his friends Shalom Freedman and Meir Sassonkin who led the crowd in an inspiring rendition of “To love a fellow Jew.”
Tzemmy Bassman stressed how this sense of responsibility that the boys have towards every Jew is not developed in a vacuum but rather from learning in an Institution inspired by the Rebbe whose unconditional love for every Jew is very core of all of his teachings.
He also thanked Rabbi Avner Anton whose unbelievable organizational skills and devotion brought about a 50 percent growth in people visited!
From the highlights of the event was the open mic session where to great cheers and laughs people shared their personal thoughts and stories about their Friday boys.
A beautiful video presentation was prepared for the event highlighting the great impact the boys have on the Detroit Jewish community.
The guests left uplifted and impressed by the impact the bochrim have on Detroit community and empowered to join the initiative themselves, to spread the joy of yiddishkeit with everyone they come in contact with.
