Mrs. Malka Kaplan, 73, OBM

Mrs. Malka Kaplan, a prominent resident of Shikun Chabad in the Israeli city of Lod, passed away on Shabbos, 18 Adar I, 5776.

She was 73 and suffered from an illness.

Mrs. Kaplan was the daughter of Rabbi Dovid Goldberg OBM, the Mashpia of Yeshivas Toras Emes Chabad in Jerusalem. Her husband, Rabbi Nachum Kaplan, is the Mashpia of the Chabad community in Lod.

For many years, she served as a dedicated teacher in the Chabad preschool in Lod. Many women fondly remember her devotion and care in their first years in the educational system.

She is survived by her children Rabbi Dovid Kaplan – Rishon L’tzoin; Rabbi Yosef Yitzchok Kaplan – Sataria, Israel; Rabbi Zev Kaplan – Ramat Shlomo, Jerusalem; Mrs. Chani Rivkin – Beit Shemesh; Mrs. Tzeiti Beckerman – Givatayim; Mrs. Dinush Kenig – Lod; grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She is also survived by her siblings R’ Mordechai Goldberg – Bnei Brak, Rabbi Yaakov Shlomo Goldberg – Crown Heights and Mrs. Sara Bornstein – Bnei Brak.

Rabbi Goldberg is sitting shiva at his home 553 Montgomery Street on Sunday only until 2:00 PM.
