The wide scale event next week that is aiming to unite the Chabad-Lubavitch community in honor of Gimmel Tammuz is gaining traction.
The initial notice on COLlive.com about a mass “Achdus Farbrengen” which will close off all of Eastern Parkway in Crown Heights was well received, with many calling it long overdue.
Following that report and its positive feedback, the members of the Crown Heights Beis Din have notified that they will be attending.
“They all have given their blessings and encouraged all men, women and children to participate in the event,” said organizers, a group of caring individuals who asked not to be named to keep the event “neutral.”
The “farbrengen” is expected to draw thousands of all ages (separate seating) and is scheduled for Monday, June 10, from 8:30pm – 9:30pm.
Jewish schools and Yeshivos in Crown Heights will be encouraging their students to attend. They include, Oholei Torah (elementary, Mesivta and Zal), United Lubavitcher Yeshiva on Crown Street, Ohr Menachem, Hadar Hatorah, Chovevei Torah and others.
With Gimmel Tammuz beginning that evening, many bochurim from Chabad Yeshivos worldwide are expected to be in New York as well. The following Yeshivos have confirmed their participation: New Haven, Postville, Baltimore, Morristown, Miami, Toronto and Los Angeles.
As mentioned, the program of the event will only include a screening of videos and there will be no speakers or signs.
A collection of sichos from the Rebbe on the topics of Ahavas Yisroel, achdus and Moshiach will be shown. Niggunim sung at the Rebbe’s farbrengens in 770 will be shown as well, in which the crowd will be able to join “k’ish echad b’lev echad.”
Hi. I’m from # 8. I agree with you, and that is percisely my point. Neither the “right” nor the “left” have the license to choose which sichos to present to their students, mekurovim, etc. It is a severe disservice to the younger generation, who were not present when the Rebbe spoke those holy words.
May we merit to hear a Sicha from the Rebbe Himself at this event! I think no one would object tor be offended by he contents.
This is an amazing initiative! This is the kind of Achdus we need to bring Moshiach! I can’t wait to be there!
your right ,we dont edit the rebbe sichos.and every word the rebbe says is important.
but if you cant play sichos of the rebbe talking about moshiach,then theres a major problem.
we are the generation of moshiach and those are the sichos that should be played

you really cant blame the organizers. there is a method that is used. you see the organizers put in a lot of time, effort, and money. the night before or the morning of the event, they are approached by a few people, who “recommended” and “advise” that for sake of total peace and harmony, the should look the other way, when they either take over a mike, or insert there own video, or any other smart move, that will allow this element to prove a point. at this point, the organizers are not really left with much of a choice.… Read more »
What do you mean “which sichos will be shown”?
Each and every Sicha of the Rebbe must be learned by each and every Chossid!
We, as Chassidim have no liberty to sort through the Rebbe’s Sichos, highlighting some, while disregarding or hiding others.
I fail to comprehend the jist of your inquiry, and would greatly appreciate an elaboration.

I believe its time we come to realize that Rabbi Ozdoba will never recognize Rabbi Braun and Rabbi Braun will never recognize Rabbi Ozdoba.
The simplest solution therefor is have 2 distinct and separate beis dins. One with Rabbi Ozdoba , Rabbi Segal and Rabbi Bogomilsky. The other with Rabbi Braun, Rabbi Schwei and whoever they choose.
Whatever difficulties there may be to have 2 beis dins. It is a hundred times more difficult and harmful to continue with the present situation.
They claim only videos but it depends which sichos and how you edit them.
having the above mentioned rabbis endorsing does not qualify it as an Acdus event.
Last time this was done they smuggled in at the end the “Yechi” proclamation and the Chassidim made up not to attend again such a gathering in the future. Who will ensure that this does not happen again?!
