Important and True!

Folks, educate yourselves. These are very dangerous people. Trust me; I teach history and politics and can confirm that every word of this article is correct and important.

celebrating??????
May 16, 2012 9:53 pm

celebrating over a jewish family in prison?

#18, the article isn't "equating"
May 16, 2012 9:30 pm

Uri L’Tzedek to the political left, it’s saying that Uri L’Tzedek *are* the political left. Their agenda is exactly the same, their funding is the same, their personnel are the same. You can’t separate them from “broader American politics”, because “broader American politics” is all that they are about. They are just another part of the Gramscian attack on all our institutions and on our liberties. These people are our enemies and it’s time we recognized that fact.

#16, it's not "common decency"
May 16, 2012 9:25 pm

To comply with whatever rapacious regulations the NLRB or other agencies impose on businesses. These regulations have nothing to with decency, or justice, or common sense, and there is no mitzvah to obey them. Therefore kashrus is much more important.

Dear #16,
You said: “you’re right its not a mitzhva, but its common decency….just because its not a mitzvah doesn’t make being unethical ok!
Dear #16…just recently three members of the Fazzio family (Who are the bosses of a food handling union) were jailed for money laundering, extortion, etc. OF THEIR OWN CONSTITUENCY…THEIR OWN MEMBERS!
What kind of a union is this? This is the union that wanted to unionize Agriprocessors…they even stopped Trader Joe’s from carrying Rubashkin turkeys using deceptive tactics.
I’ve been ‘doing my homework,’ and read everything article related to Agriprocessors.

Dear #13,
One BIG problem.
‘Uri Tzedek’ bases their assertions on things that NEVER happened!
Agriprocessors always treated their employees very well. In fact, the ‘trumped up’ govt. case about teenage (etc?) worker abuse was thrown out of court as a big lie.
The govt. even bribed workers (Guatemalian, etc) with visas…encouraging them to lie.

Dear #10,
‘Todah’ who ever you are.
Why not state your name?
I went to: http://www.utzedek.org/
as saw many photos of very immodestly dressed women-girls…also in pants.
They claim to be an ‘Orthodox’ organization but, it seems, as if some ‘Halacha’ doesn’t apply to them.
So…they’re smarter, wiser and better than HaShem?

What Shtus!
May 16, 2012 1:00 pm

So, you don’t like what Uri Tzedek is doing. Fine, no argument there. But to equate it with the political left in this country is just shtus. Nonsense. You make valid points, but to attribute this to the left’s social agenda, whatever that means, is just stupid.

If you want to denigrate Uri Tzedek, fine, make that point. But to conflate it with broader American politics dilutes your own agenda.

ethics?
May 16, 2012 6:40 am

These are the same people who announced the boycott on Rubashkin meat based on rumor and having never visited the plant or spoken with a member of the Rubashkin family. All in the name of ethics.

*And there is *no* mitzvah to pay people union scale, or to comply with every regulation of the NLRB and the EPA. None at all.*
May 16, 2012 12:33 am

you’re right its not a mitzhva, but its common decency….
just because its not a mitzvah doesnt make being unethical ok!

you could bet your boots Rabbi Lookstein had an incentive to endorse, financial or otherwise.

what, no report on this story>??
May 15, 2012 10:36 pm

A Republican lawmaker in New Hampshire was physically removed from the state House of Representatives on Tuesday afternoon after he made a Nazi salute during a contentious debate about limiting what is considered valid voter identification.

Rep. Steve Vaillancourt (R-Manchester) shouted, “Sieg Heil” and moved his hand in the air after House Speaker William O’Brien (R-Mont Vernon) restricted what he could address during a floor debate on an amendment to a state voter ID bill.

Real Judaism
May 15, 2012 10:16 pm

#5 Yup, like it or not, this IS real Judaism. Please open your code of JEWISH law, and find the laws dealing with Kosher food, you will see that there is a need for rabbinic supervision for preparing food. However there is no need for rabbinic supervision or a rabbinic stamp of approval for the “ethics” of the business. (I don’t know why only food is being targeted here, if it is required according to halacha, it should be every business. Sort of a Jewish BBB). By all means, if you are interested, begin a new religion for “ethics” just… Read more »

"Ritual" and "ethical" commandments?
May 15, 2012 9:33 pm

This is a Christian division. We know of no such division. Not mixing milk and meat is just as “ethical” as not stealing.

And there is *no* mitzvah to pay people union scale, or to comply with every regulation of the NLRB and the EPA. None at all.

Rabbi Lookstein is a lefty from way back. Socialism is part of his religion, which is why he’s treif.

#4 I would respond to you but I simply don’t understand what your saying.

#9 a quick Wikipedia on Rabbi Lookstein should set you straight about who he is aka Obama’s Rabbi (Orthodox).

What about this?
Rabbi Haskel Lookstein, Congregation Kehilath Jeshurun:

“I heartily endorse the Tav HaYosher of Uri L’Tzedek. I encourage the members of my own community to patronize establishments with the Tav HaYosher and Congregation Kehilath Jeshurun’s regularly updated list of kosher establishments in Manhattan will indicate which of them have the Tav. I feel certain that my teacher Rav Soloveitchik would have been in favor of this wonderful initiative which will ensure that the values of the Torah are actualized in the public sphere.”
Does he know what he is doing?
Any responses?

This article is rubbish, right wing rig-a-marole. If you want nutty, just write about the Crown Heights kashrus crowd.

Revoke his Giyur
May 15, 2012 3:50 pm

Yanklowitz Needs to have his giyur revoked. Had he not had a kosher conversion he would just be called an anti-Semite with a father who happens to be Jewish.

This is Judaism?
May 15, 2012 3:18 pm

So, keeping our milk and meat separate is more important than treating our fellow human beings humanely? Why is it that we can eat comfortably somewhere with kashrut hashgacha that mistreats its workers? And why is the author of this article comfortable with posting what amounts to a giant dose of lashon harah? I guess only the ritual commandments are important to him, and the ethical ones are optional?

#3, this is a prime example of the problem we have in Crown Heights of Loshon Hara running unchecked. Don’t assume that you know anything about people, unless you actually DO know something about them.

Sadly a quick search on Facebook, revealed that more then one Lubavitcher is friends with this so called “Rabbi” Shmuly Yanklowitz. I wouldn’t be surprised if the majority of these holy leaders of poor, people grew up in rich homes, and are very own version of trust fund baby’s. It’s time we go after these Manhattan good doers. If they really want to help these illegal immigrants, they would be wise not to fight against the businesses that are willing to hire them (I am not supporting hiring these people).

These people are worse than our enemies… The anti semites never claimed to love jewish people, yet these people enclose themselves in jewish garp pretending to “care” for our ethics, may god grant them a quick salvation to hell.
