Once again the haimishe community of Stamford Hill, UK joined with anash for a chassidishe fabrengen-melavah malkah.
This annual event (fourth annual event) is hosted by Rabbi Levi Yitzchok Liberow, director of the Ohr Hatorah Chassidus Library.
This Motzei Shabbos, in Stamford Hill, London, over 500 people gathered together in the yismach lev satmer hall, to partake in a fabrengen in preparation of Yud Tes Kislev.
The fabrengen was chaired by Rabbi Levi Yitzchok Liberow and was graced with the presence of many prominent rabbonim including, Dayan Levi Yitzchok Raskin, Rabbi Yitzchok Meir Hertz, Rosh Yeshiva of Yeshiva Gedolah Kingsley Way, Rabbi Menachem Mendel Gordon, Mashpia of Yeshiva Gedolah, Rabbi Shmuel Lew, Rabbi Yitzchok Friedman, a Rov of Hisachdus Hakehillos, Rabbi Sender Liberow, Mashpia in Manchester, Harav Pinchas Schneebalg, Rosh Yeshiva of Chaim Meirim Wiznitz London, Rabbi Shimon Hirschler, Daf hayomi maggid shiur and guest speaker and fabrenger was Harav Menachem Mendel Foigel, Rosh Kollelei Mayonei Yisroel in Eretz Yisroel. Due to an overwhelming demand after last year’s event Rabbi Foigel returned once again this year.
A massive crowd filled the hall to the brim with men and bochurim both from anash and the wider Chassidic community who sat down together to a delectable catered meal accompanied by a live band including a talented violinist player. The numerous guest speakers highlighted the importance of learning chassidus thoroughly rather than focusing on short quotes and vertlach.
Niggunei Hisvados and the Alter Rebbes niggun daled bovos were sung together accompanied by the poignant playing of the masterful violinist. The spirited dancing which followed was the ultimate expression of achdus as men from all Chassidic circles danced together in harmony.
Every participant received a beautiful kuntres souvenir, a collection of stories and anecdotes from the Alter Rebbe.
The thirst for Chassidus was evident by the amount of interest shown in the display of seforim on sale.
The active participation of the shluchim and bochurim of the Mechina Yeshiva and Yeshiva Gedolah enhanced the atmosphere of the fabrengen.
After bentching which was long beyond midnight, Rabbi Foigel continued to fabreng till 3:30 in the morning. The melavah malkah preceeded with a Thursday night shiur and a Friday night fabrengen at the home of his host, Rabbi Nachman Yosef Wilhelm. Many yungerleit and yeshiva bochurim attended these late night night fabrengens. Rabbi Foigel left the London community with a greater enthusiasm to pursue the teachings of chassidus. This evening once again has inspired many to take upon themselves to learn Chassidus as part of their daily schedule. Ohr hatorah has received numerous requests to host more of these shiurim and fabrengens and this highlights the necessity of ohr hatorahs programmes for the Chassidic community.
Ohr Hatorah is open every evening for the benefit of all those looking to access the world of Chassidus. The library has an extensive collection of thousands of Chassidic seforim, journals and publications and a special room in the library has been dedicated to be able to view the many thousands of hours of Farbrengens and distribution of dollars etc. Ohr Hatorah also hosts Farbrengens and shiurim regularly in its warm and friendly environment.
