The Rebbe of Vizhnitz, Rabbi Yisroel Hager of Bnei Brak has recently encouraged his chassidim to spend time learning as a method that would help them strengthen their emuna.
During a Shabbos he spent in Tzfas on Parshas Noach, the Vizhnitzer Rebbe commented that “sifrei musar bring yirah and sifrei chassidus bring ahava,” saying that one approach develops fear of Hashem, and the other love.
The next morning, when he was walking to the Mikvah, he commented: “The truth is that sifrei chassidus bring yirah as well. I want to point out that sifrei chassidus includes both ahava and yirah.”
“Whoever want to understand chassidus at its depth should learn Tanya which is more difficult,” he said referring to the fundamental text of Chabad Chassidic philosophy, written by the movement’s founder, Rabbi Shneur Zalman of Liadi.
“Many think that Tanya only belongs to Chabad chassidim, and that is not so,” the Vizhnitzer Rebbe emphasized.
“Whoever wants to learn chassidus in a more thorough and in-depth way, should learn Tanya.”
i remember having the viznitz rebbe before he came rebbe fabrenging for us in mesivta when we went on a class trip to wales he really is a very impressive he used to listen to our tanya shiur he also had a very strong love for the rebbe
Tanya is Torah shebichsav of Chassidus, and therefore just as Chassidus is for all Yidden, so is Tanya.
In meforshim on Tanya it’s brought that the Alter Rebbe saw beruach kodshoi all future students of Tanya, and lechatchileh included his advice to all of them in the Tanya.
All the rebeim are the same neshomo, as the rebbe says in a sicha.Since the rebbe is the nasi hador, all the yiden are the rebbe’s followers even if they follow a different derech, since all the other Admurim are connected to the rebbe,and their chasidim are connected to them.
They are on the way to growing as Vizhnitzer chassidim. The whole point is that Tanya is not just for Lubavitchers and learning Chassidus Chabad doesn’t mean you have to turn into a Lubavitcher anymore than learning Likitei Kerem Shlomo is making me into a Bobover.

Good timing as we start preparing for Rosh Hashana L’CHassidus, the Rebbe always said that Chassidus is shayich and necessary for every yid.; definitely sign of Moshiach that our leaders are ‘catching up’ and encouraging their chassidim..now let US renew our chayus in Limud Hatanya and may we all have a ‘Shana Tova b’Limud HaChassidus u’b’darkei haChassidus t’kasev v’seichasem”!!!!
But the Alter rebbe says it belongs to and is for his chassidim in the Hakdomo?
The Tzadik Rebbe Zushia from Anipol said that we are going to greet Moshiach with Tanya in hand.
