A celebration marking the miraculous recovery of Chabad bochur Alex Hecht from a flesh eating bacteria was held across the Atlantic.
His brother, JJ Hecht, organized the Seudas Hoa’ah with his classmates of shiur gimmel of Yeshivas Tomchei Temimim Lubavitch in Brunoy, France.
The Yeshiva agreed to host the event, the Menahel Rabbi Itche Nemenov said, as a chance to highlight the importance of thanking Hashem.
To the bochurim’s delight, a gourmet lunch was served by the Yeshiva’s Menahel Gashmi R’ Shmaryahu Brook.
Bochur Mendel Zaltzman gave the opening words, followed by a cousin of Hecht who related in detail to the participants the story of the 14 year-old boy’s illness and the thousands around the world who prayed and took on good resolutions in his merit.
Rosh Yeshiva, Rabbi Yechiel Kalmanson also attended and spoke about strengthening one’s self during the approaching High Holidays.
JJ Hecht said he thanks Hashem for the miraculous recovery and that his brother should be returning to Yeshiva in the near future.
The celebration concluded with lively niggunim and dancing, as the bochurim celebrated the joyous occasion with their friend and departing home for the month of Tishrei.
“The nissim v’niflaos we saw truly shows us that our tefillos can really pierce through the gates of heaven,” said one student.
