Thousands Visit Midtown Sukkah

Travelers from the world over, businessmen working in the densest corporate district on earth, frum families on Chol Hamoed trips, locals living in this urban neighborhood, and even “Occupy Wall Street” marchers all visited the same Sukkah.

For the 15th year, Chabad of Midtown Manhattan welcomed thousands of Jews from all walks of life to the picturesque New York Sukkah.
 
Located just steps from Times Square – the proverbial “Crossroads of the World” – in Midtown Manhattan’s Bryant Park – the Sukkah is especially designed to blend into its natural setting and to remind passersby of this joyful Harvest Festival.

Chabad Shluchim Rabbi Yehoshua and Brocha Chana Metzger stood by – alongside many bochurim on mivtzoyim – ushering guests inside to make a brocha on the Lulav and Esrog – as well as to enjoy the Sukkah.
 
The Park is surrounded by canyons of office buildings, hotels, the Fashion/Garment District, exclusive shops and the famous New York Public Library.

“It is an autumnal oasis is the concrete jungle that is Manhattan,” Rabbi Metzger said. “And the Sukkah is the soul in the heart of this great city.”
