For those of you who don’t get the joke, in BJJ there’s a gigantic rock. girls used to have all their DMCs (deep meaningful conversations) on that rock. that rock was almost sacred and everyone knew that if 2 girls were sitting on that rock, steer clear. of course we would have farbrengens sometimes there, too. but mostly, it was just for dmcs.
good job, BJJ! Sarah Hecht, you run a great show! I hope to come back as a counselor in 2 years!

first of all bjj stands for bnos jacob jehoda (yocov yihuda). the teen camp part of emuna was named after him after he past away under the instruction of the rebbe.
second of all, in camp there is a big rock with “Mashpia Rock” on it. and so we went to the bench and put up a sine that says mashpia bench!

It says ‘Mashpia Bench’. BJJ stands for Bnos Jaakov Judah – Rabbi JJ Hecht started the camp (it’s Camp Emunah) and up in the teen camp, there is a big rock called the Mashpia Rock – it’s pretty popular 😉 So someone decided Crown Heights needs a Mashpia Bench…

basically, bjj stands for camp bnos yaakov yehuda, or rabbi jj hecht, obm. in emuna, in teen camp, they have a rock that was nicknamed the mashpia rock for a number of reasons, one of them being that their very into mashpias in camp and people used to sit and discuss their issues on that rock.
