Some 1,000 people from all walks of life gathered at Chabad of the Valley Headquarters in Tarzana on Tuesday evening, Gimmel Tammuz, to observe the 17th Yahrzeit of the Rebbe.
A full meal was served. People listened intently and spellbound as Rabbi Levi Shemtov, emissary of the Rebbe and Director of American Friends of Lubavitch in Washington, DC, regaled the audience with stories, lessons and anecdotes about the Rebbe and Lubavitch for more than an hour.
Both Shluchim and lay leaders joined from many of the 25 Chabad Centers throughout the Valley in tribute to the Rebbe, in the spirit of B’Rov Am Hadras Melech. The evening was emceed by Rabbi Mordechai Einbinder. Greetings were also offered by Rabbi Yehoshua Binyomin Gordon, Executive Director of Chabad of the Valley.
As always, the Farbrengen was graciously sponsored by Gary and Rochelle Finder and the Finder Family Educational Center.
