Close to a hundred people, from many different backgrounds and from many different neighborhoods gathered together Thursday night to celebrate Yud-Tes Kislev at the new Beit Hamidrash with Rabbi Meyer Shushan.

Among the guests were Mr. Chaim Narkis, and Mr. Moshe (Mark) Dayan, CEO of Empire Homes Sales Inc., whose financial support enabled the opening of the Beit Hamidrash, and Mr. Pinchas (Pete) Jacov, who sponsored the Farbrengen.

Also present was a Rosh Yeshiva in Kiryat Gat, Rabbi Moshe Ben-shushan, an alumnus of great Lithuanian yeshivos in Israel, who discovered the treasury of the Chasidus and Sichos of the Rebbe.

Rabbi Meyer Shushan, an articulate speaker who gives dozens of weekly Torah classes in three languages across New York, began the farbrengen by repeating Sichos of the Rebbe emphasizing the importance of Yud-Tes Kislev.

On Motzaei Shabbos, a women’s Farbrengen took place in cooperation with Neshei Chabad – French, and dozens of women from all over New York attended and enjoyed the evening.

The Beit Hamidrash is currently open for 6 month already, two nights a week: Monday evening at 8 pm for a course of the weekly Parsha and Tanya given in Hebrew, and Wednesday evening at 8 pm, for a course of Ein Yaakov in depth given in Hebrew.

These classes appeal to a growing number of young professionals who are attracted by the clarity and lucidity of Rabbi Shushan’s explanations.

There is also a class in Chassidus every Shabbos Morning at 9 am, followed by Shacharis at 10 am and a Kiddush after the davening.

Shabbos afternoon there is a Minyan for Mincha, and Marriv is followed by a screening of the Living Torah.

After renovations, the Beit Hamidrash will be open to the public all day and a most of the evening, with an abundance of Seforim, Otzar Hachochma, and a comfortable and pleasant environment in which to learn.

The Beit Hamidrash is a 1100 Sq ft. conveniently located at 1185 Lincoln Place, between Albany and Troy Ave.
